.pt has just reached a new record with 150,525 registrations in 2022, 13,604 more than in the previous year, which represents a growth of 10% in registrations.

The months of March (15,612) and October (15,656) confirmed the trend seen in recent years and again marked the highest number of registrations. In the second half of the year alone, there were almost 76 thousand new registrations in .pt, 12,435 more than in the same period of the previous year, which corresponds to an increase of 20%.

The need for companies, namely micro, small and medium-sized companies, to embrace digital transformation and increasingly adopt an online presence, combined with the security and credibility that the .pt domain offers, help to explain the continued growth and good performance of the last year.

"The number of registrations achieved this year surpasses the results of the pandemic years, which were the best ever, as a result of the commitment of companies and citizens to digital. investing in an online presence to boost their businesses. .PT follows this stage in companies' lives and today offers a service that is recognized as a benchmark, secure, credible, and reliable, at a time when these characteristics are so important.”, explains Luisa Ribeiro Lopes, Chair of the .PT Board of Directors.

"The numbers leave us very satisfied and consolidate the work that .PT develops, whether in promoting a secure and more reliable internet, or in the area of digital training and inclusion. The .pt domain has been growing consecutively for ten years, assuming itself as a true case of success among European domains”, highlights Luisa Ribeiro Lopes.

As responsible for managing the Portuguese top-level domain, .PT has been expanding its area of operation and today plays an important role in the development of digital skills in Portugal, through the support and development of programs such as INCoDe.2030, MUDA or Digital Ramp.
