Active Status

Status in which an approved domain becomes accessible on the network once the technical information has been indicated

Approved Status
Status denoting a process with a favourable legal assessment according to the data input online, which may be subject to subsequent documental verification in accordance with a random selection. (this is a temporary status that becomes final once the technical assessment has been concluded).

Registry-Registrar Protocol
Also known as EPP, this is a service for normalising communication between the .PT domain Registrars and the FCCN (which is the Registry of this top-level domain) whose objective it is to make the entire domain registration and maintenance procedure by these entities, automatic.
Rejected Status
Status identifying a process which, following its legal assessment, does not meet the necessary conditions for its approval
Reserved Status
Exactly the same status as the "Active" status but where there are no technical details. The domain name will not be activated

This is a name server for the DNS root zone (".") and its role is to respond to DNS requests from the root zone and requests from top domain name servers

Stand-By-Payment Status
Status marking a process awaiting payment of the registration and maintenance fee within 48 hours. In the absence of payment within this deadline the domain expires
Start Status
Status confirming that online input is finalized, awaiting legal assessment/verification according to the details input online

Status identifying that the domain has been approved but has technical irregularities which prevent it from being activated. (e.g. Primary IP Server not configured or incorrectly configured)
