We are the flag of Portugal on the internet

Security

National Cybersecurity Centre

In the specific case of security, and in line with what is defined in the National Cybersecurity Strategy, under the responsibility of the National Security Office, we work closely with the National Cybersecurity Authority - the National Cybersecurity Centre (CNCS).

Also within this scope are the actions of close collaboration with CERT.PT, a CNCS service that coordinates the response to incidents involving state entities, essential service operators, Critical Infrastructure operators and digital service providers.

Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS)

Nation Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) is a global initiative, supported by the Internet Society, that provides crucial fixes to reduce the most common routing threats.

The .PT, as a national registry, has the mission to ensure the maintenance of the levels of quality, reliability and security of the .pt domain names registration and also to contribute to a more secure and reliable use of the internet under .pt, through the coordination and cooperation in responding to security incidents and raising awareness and promoting a culture of security in its community of customers and registrars. The .PT, aware of the special relevance of the MANRS initiative for the community it serves, has recently joined the initiative, implementing good security practices identified in the configuration of routing systems, and also considers it essential to contribute to making cyberspace safer and reliable through the promotion of activities to raise awareness of these practices within its community.

ICANN: TLD-OPS

The TLD-OPS is a ccTLD incident response community, operated under the aegis of ICANN, whose mission is to collaborate and contribute to better Internet stability. In this community, the contacts of a particular ccTLD are shared and whenever anyone finds a difficulty can use this community for help. In addition to these operational functions, the TLD-OPS has also produced several documents for a good technical management of a ccTLD.

The .PT is an active member of this community and has also been collaborating with LUSNIC's TLDs in order to promote the accession of these countries in an effort to make the Internet a safer place.

CENTR: WG-Security

The .PT is part of this working group whose central mission is to support and encourage the sharing of information and the cooperation between the different ccTLDs in information security matters.

This group includes more than 50 participants and is a forum for sharing experiences in the detection, prevention and response to security incidents, as well as new trends and cyber threats and best practices.
