.PT joins the Digital with Purpose movement

.PT is one of the signatory entities of Digital with Purpose, an initiative of the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GESI), which aims to create more business value through digital technology, meeting the fulfillment of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The movement believes "in a world where technology, innovation and collaboration can transform the fortunes of our planet.” 

The initiative was launched today at a session under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The session began with an intervention by the Minister of State, Economy and Digital Transition, Pedro Siza Vieira, followed by three panels: 

1. "Digital Democracy for public good: Data security and privacy, who’s in control, who decides?”

2. "Climate Change: How do we accelerate the role of technology and what impact should we expect?”

3. "Certification of digital maturity: Digital acceleration of companies”, with the signing of a protocol between the Portuguese Government and GeSI.

The event culminated with the intervention of André de Aragão Azevedo, Secretary of State for the Digital Transition.
