25-09-2026
On 23 and 24 September, the 4th edition of the Lusophone Internet Governance Forum took place at the Talatona Convention Centre in Luanda, resulting in the adoption of the Luanda Charter.
Organised by .PT, LusNIC, INFOSI, NIC.br, CGI.br, ARME, INTIC, AGER and ARTE, with the support of the Internet Governance Forum Support Association, the initiative brought together the Portuguese-speaking community in a multistakeholder forum for dialogue on the relationship between the Portuguese language and the development, use and governance of the Internet, reflecting on the impacts and challenges for linguistic and cultural diversity.
On the final day of the Forum, representatives from some of the organising countries took part in A Grande Questão, a programme broadcast by Angola’s public television network (TPA), to discuss "Internet Governance: What tools can be used to include those who have been left behind?” Watch it here.
The 5th edition of the Lusophone Internet Governance Forum will take place in São Tomé and Príncipe in September 2027.
On 25 September, the 8th LusNIC General Assembly was also held in Luanda, where several matters relevant to the association were discussed and decided upon, including the approval of the 2027–2028 Activity Plan and Budget.
