Much More Than a Point
Geometrically, a point has no definition, dimension or shape. Yet even though no measurement can be attached to it, the point is the foundation of all geometry, because it is from a collection of points that every geometric shape is formed.

A point is therefore used to represent a location in space. It is a mere placeholder, with no physical dimension, yet essential for defining everything else.

In fact, "ponto" is the Portuguese word with the highest number of definitions: fifty-one. Such a simple element, yet present in countless corners of our everyday life.

A "point" is the opinion we hold about something, and, at the same time, the way we shut down a subject we would rather not discuss — full stop. It is also a spot on the map, and the place where we arrange a long-awaited meeting.

We clock in at a certain point in the day, and delight in a steak cooked to just the right point. Some give without ever expecting anything in return, while others can never tell a story without adding an embellishment or two.

So, in its simplicity, a point is, in truth, the origin of countless stories. Joined together, points embroider a pattern, stitch a wound closed, mark out a route, or win us a competition. It is always the connections between them that give them meaning. It is in the connection between points that paths, shapes and networks are born.

In the .pt universe too, every registrar, every customer and every partner represents an essential point in this collective endeavour. It is these connections of trust, collaboration and innovation that make the ecosystem stronger, and that carry the Portuguese flag, together with the projects, ideas and dreams registered under .pt, further across this great world map that is the digital realm.

We are an ecosystem of interconnected points that only find true meaning when joined to one another. Because it is together that we go further. Full stop.
