Portuguese Coalition for Digital Employability celebrates 10 years
04-12-2025
The Portuguese Coalition for Digital Employability (CPED) marked its 10th anniversary this week. Created in 2015, following the European Commission’s call to strengthen digital skills across Europe, the CPED now brings together 85 entities from the public, private and third sectors that work collaboratively to reinforce digital employability in Portugal.
Coordinated by .PT, the Coalition has developed initiatives covering multiple dimensions of digital upskilling — from basic education to professional reskilling, from digital inclusion to alignment with labour market needs. This integrated approach has expanded training opportunities, created bridges between different areas of action and helped more citizens acquire essential competencies in an economy shaped by technological transformation.
Over the last decade, the CPED has established itself as a cross-sector cooperation platform that promotes a more inclusive digital development model, capable of responding to the accelerated changes driven by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
.PT thanks all the entities that have contributed to this collective effort. The next decade will require continuity, collaboration and renewed ambition: raising digital skill levels, reducing disparities and preparing Portugal for the demands of an increasingly digital economy.
