.PT and Cisco signed a cooperation protocol to promote the development of basic and advanced digital skills, through joint programmes of professional evolution and qualification.
This cooperation will allow the integration of the Cisco Networking Academy® (NetAcad) programme in the .PT activities plan, making courses, support, tools and systems covered by the platform available for free. It also foresees the creation of joint programs of development and professional qualification, such as the organisation of technical classes or workshops of dissemination and use of the portal for Devnet developers, stimulating the creation of entrepreneurial projects and extending the knowledge of technologies and their application.
".PT and Cisco share the will of promoting the adherence to the teaching of information and communication technologies, and see the need of evolution of the existing educational and innovation practices and curricula. The joint protocol that we formalise today is aligned with these goals and aims to strengthen the enrichment of digital skills of companies and citizens, indispensable for the digital transformation underway", says Luisa Ribeiro Lopes, Chair of the Board of Directors at .PT.
"It is with an enormous spirit of commitment that we signed this protocol with .PT, which aims to promote the development of basic and advanced digital skills in Portugal. Cisco, in its digital acceleration programme, through the Cisco Network Academy, has as one of its main goals the digital capacitation of the different populations in Portugal. This .PT training centre will be an important infrastructure to promote the adherence to IT education, developing digital skills to accelerate innovation in Portugal", says Miguel Almeida, General Manager, Cisco Portugal.
The signature of the protocol took place in the scope of the session 'Innovation, Knowledge and Cybersecurity', held yesterday at Barra Barra, headquarters of .PT, and counted with the participation of the National Director of the Polícia Judiciária, Luís Neves, and of Cisco Portugal's General Manager, Miguel Almeida.
The first 'Introduction to cybersecurity' course is already available and aims to enable citizens and companies to use technological means by knowing the risks and the good practices that they should adopt in their daily life. Sign up here!
